It has been such a pleasure to have this special group this year. They are smart, sweet, curious, creative and full of energy. This year has been very special; I learned about relationships, creativity and belonging through this fantastic group. I am inspired by each child’s thoughts and wonders. I am very happy and proud to witness how they are developing many different skills over the school year. And I wish their the best in all future endeavors.

p. 7 arriba de la frase de Malaguzzi During this school year, our class intention was: “Developing sense of belonging through individual stories.” We focus our efforts exploring with the class and their capacity to create group identity. As a teacher I believe that the foundation of education begins through social skills. The children learn how to be in a group by respecting each other as they learn to take turns, sharing toys and working together. The goal for the class is helping children to be more independent, develop self-control, and manage feelings of frustration (expected in this age group).
During the past months we have been working on helping the children to express their anger in a positive way using their words to vent their feelings. Little by little the whole class has been learning and practicing their social skills to became more respectful towards their peers. The school is a “special” place where they explore and discover how to be in society, is like a micro world where we learn how to live as a community.
Another class goal was potty training because is an important concrete example of independence for children. We are very proud that all our children have accomplished this goal.

p.13During Assembly Ramzi’s mom, Zarina, read two books to the class “New York, baby” and “Vroom!”. The children listened to the stories attentively and got to see all the sights of New York!
Cooper’s mom read a book to the class: “Dan the taxi man” (by Eric Oden).The whole class was engaged and listened with attention this musical and interesting book.
Ramzi’s dad read a book to the class: “Oh, the places you’ll go!” (by Dr. Seuss). Ramzi was very happy to share his favorite book with the class and be with his father here today… Thank you for sharing this inspirational book.
Amelie’s parents read “Little blessings for little children” by Rose Bouting. The book illustrates how children can find a little blessing by looking everywhere.
p.13 Thank you to the families that came and shared with us a special moment reading in our classroom. This week we have enjoyed Assembly with you and we truly appreciate your participation!
p.14 Building – Children enjoyed a lot using connectors. They made ” umbrellas”, “towers”, “trees”.”radars” and “spiders”. Through the manipulation of sticks they develop their spatial skills and creativity.
p.15 agregar fotos de carritos (bring color …) con este comento: Bringing more color to our cars. Social learning becomes real when the curiosity and initiative of one child motivates a whole classroom to explore tempera and brushes to paint our wood cars. One day everyone held a brush and enjoyed making more colorful our toys. This experience was the beginning of our recycle project that outcome was our lot parking for the cars.

P. 16 Recycle project
Children begun to explore creativity using different reusable materials as an opportunity to learn about recycling as well as transforming a material into something useful for the class. Through this experience they were cooperative, creative and practice respect for each other and team work.
p.18 Molding clay is beneficial in many ways, it helps develop hand eye coordination as they pound, pat, and push the clay. During this year children explored the clay in different ways to create a “cakes”, “house” and “fish” and to drawing. When we begun to use it to draw, They felt the smooth material with their hands as it became gooey and soft after adding water. They experienced the quality of this material, in a transformation process.

pag. 21 Cutting allows children to build up the tiny muscles in the palm since they have to continuously open and close the hand. These muscles are also used when children are writing, painting, or holding onto anything with a grip. Cutting also enhances the use of eye-hand coordination when children are being able to move their hand while looking at something. In addition, cutting encourages children to use bilateral coordination. When cutting, children must hold the paper with one hand while using the scissors with the other hand.
pag 23. The sensory table brings to the children the opportunity to explore and compare the properties of materials like water and sand. While dumping and pouring these materials, they learn about quantities, measurement, volume, and density.
pag 26 Shapes as part of our everyday objects
Children can find shaper everywhere they look, doors are rectangle, wheels are circles, and books are square. Shapes acquire an even more important meaning when they used them a medium to tell a story.
pag 25 The overhead projector allows the children to interact not only with the emergent light but also with the projection on the wall. This particular object empower the children by allowing them to change the projection as they curiosity grows. This year the 2’s A used the projector to learn about shapes and colors when bringing different objects from the classroom.

Father’s day text is a poem :
Footprints
“Walk a little slower daddy,”
said a child so small.
“I’m following in your footsteps
and I don’t want to fall.
Sometimes your steps are very fast,
Sometimes they’re hard to see;
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
For you are leading me.
Someday when I’m all grown up,
You’re what I want to be;
Then I will have a little child
Who’ll want to follow me.
And I would want to lead just right,
And know that I was true;
So, walk a little slower, Daddy,
For I must follow you.”

P. 37 Dramatic Play este es el texto original, te lo escribo si Ms. Maggie encuentra errores te lo corrijo luego asi ya lo tienes.
Dramatic Play is a very important moment in our class. The whole class is very engaged with this area. Children express themselves pretending to be mommy and daddy, caring for babies and playing in the kitchen. Throughout the associative play they develop relationships, self-regulation and self-concept. Children loves to pretend to carry a baby and prepare food for feeding their babies. They loves to dress in different costumes like a cape (carries a bag and wears a hat. Children pretend to go to Publix, the doctor’s office or being on a train. They often found laughing a lot when playing in our dramatic area. The evolution of their manners of playing with babies, expresses how the whole class is growing up and shows a sensible part of their personality.
